V8 Juice Copycat Recipe
A guest post from Lauren:
Do you like “V8” or tomato juice? If so, then you’ll love this homemade copycat version. I love this juice myself, because it is a recipe that can be easily tweaked to suit your palette. In addition, this juice is a great post-workout guzzle due to the many electrolytes and nutrients found in celery, tomatoes, and spinach. This delicious drink is more nutrient dense than most, so it might keep you full for quite a while. If you like garlic, it will give your immune system a great boost. Personally, I like to add 2-3 cloves of garlic and some rosemary…delicious! Additionally, red pepper flakes or cayenne would be a good add-in as they help speed up your metabolism. So if you like it spicy, go for it! Of course, I have to mention that this juice would make a great, healthy base for the occasional Bloody Mary. Enjoy!
· Handful of parsley
· 2 carrots
· Handful of spinach
· 2 tomatoes
· 2 celery ribs
· ½ Cucumber
· ½ Green Bell Pepper (or red/yellow)
· Medium Broccoli Stem or 2 Bok Choy Ribs
· ½ clove of garlic (if desired)
If you like it sweet, add more carrots, or use red/yellow bell peppers instead
If you like it spicy, add garlic, red pepper, cayenne, (or any combo of these)
If it’s too thick, add more cucumbers or tomatoes
I am sure a blender will work for this recipe as well, you just might have to add more cucumbers or some water.
