Refreshing Grapefruit Celery Juice
Grapefruit and grapefruit juice are among my favorite fruits to eat and drink. This recipe is actually one of my all time favorites; it is so zesty and refreshing! Best of all, this recipe is EASY!
The grapefruit provides vitamin C and folic acid while the celery provides potassium and sodium, making this drink great for preventing/combating dehydration. When juicing, choose grapefruits with red-pink flesh, such as Ruby Red or Star Ruby varieties. These choices will help the juice be sweeter and have a better flavor. If you are not a fan of grapefruit, you can substitute oranges, or a combination of lemons and limes to suit your taste.
***Also, please be aware that grapefruit juice does not agree with some prescription medications! So check your prescription labels and if you have any questions or concerns please consult your primary care physician or pharmacist.***
Grapefruit Celery Juice
· 2 grapefruits, peeled and cut in ½
· ½ head of celery
Juice the ingredients, alternating the citrus and celery. This recipe can also be made in a blender, just strain to get some of the pulp out of the juice. For flavor excitement, add fresh torn mint or cilantro. If you want to sweeten it up add some kiwi or pears. Enjoy!
