Be a Volunteer Farmer
Have you ever wondered what life is like for an organic farmer? Well if you’re really interested you can find out first hand. WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) provides opportunities for people of any age to volunteer on organic farms and get a real insight into how our food is produced. You can go for as little as a day, or you can stay longer if they need more help.
There are all sorts of farms you can try out. Some are purely agricultural, some have livestock. And they’re literally all around the world. If you want to stay local, there are several right here in Florida, but for a real adventure, you could go to Europe, South America, or even Africa.

If you’re planning on taking kids, check with the farm first as there may be restrictions. Some will allow unaccompanied older teenagers, but most require a supervising adult, and some don’t allow minors at all.
If you’ve ever volunteered for WWOOF, we’d love to hear about your experiences!
