All About Oyster Mushrooms
A guest post from food blogger Christine Fontanin:
Space Girl Organics is offering Florida Oyster Mushrooms this week.
Oyster mushrooms are delicate and quick cooking, so they work great in a stir fry or a quick saute. If you want to use them in a meal with a longer cook time just add them in at the end.Oyster mushrooms have a mild flavor which is very versatile and can compliment any recipe. They can be eaten raw or cooked!
As with all mushrooms, if you are not going to use them right away, remove any packaging they came in and store them in a paper bag. This will ensure the bag absorbs any extra moisture and then they will last a long time!
Ingredients:
1/2 tablespoon of oil
1/2 pound small oyster mushrooms
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of cider vinegar
Heat oil in a nonstick pan over medium-high heat. Saute mushrooms with salt until golden. Add vinegar and continue to cook until evaporated, about 1 minute.
