Farm Fresh Butter, Eggs & Meat Delivered by Space Girl Organics

May 25, 2013- New Products Standard

A post from guest blogger Christine Fontanin:

I was very excited when I found out Space Girl Organics was offering butter and eggs.  You may feel like “butter is butter” and “eggs are eggs,” but I can truly taste a difference between grocery store and premium farm fresh butter and eggs.

A few weeks ago, I got my first butter and egg order and I am happy to report they were fantastic!

Butter:

The butter was from Vermont Creamery which is a co-op of 500 family farms in Northeast Vermont. The cream is churned in small batches and results in a rich European-style butter. The Vermont Creamery butter is also cultured which makes it a probiotic.  Awesome!

I first tasted European style butter several years ago on vacation and I instantly knew it was something special and different.  It was much more flavorful and rich tasting.  European style butter has less water in it than regular butter, so it is more intensely flavorful and easier to cook with without it burning.   Since my vacation, I have found and purchased a few different European style butters from my grocery store, but I honestly thought that the Vermont Creamery butter offered from Space Girl Organics was much better tasting.  I spread it on some fresh crusty bread from my local bakery and it was quite the experience!

Eggs:

The eggs were from Lake Meadow Naturals which is a nearby Florida farm. The eggs are from free-range cage-free poultry which is raised without any growth hormones or antibiotics and in stress free conditions.

The eggs have a fantastic farm fresh flavor.  Again, I found their taste to be better than the organic eggs I was buying from my grocery store.  We cooked the eggs in a cast iron skillet and had a great brunch pairing them with organic nitrate-free bacon and oven roasted asparagus drizzled with balsamic glaze.

I am very happy to have my eggs and butter now delivered to my door from Space Girl Organics. Space Girl Organics also offers delivery of local grass fed pastured meats. Here is a vlog of customers Katie and Adam getting their first grass fed ground beef order.  If your interested in trying any of the products, you can order the butter, eggs, or meat as an add-on to your produce box at www.spacegirlorganics.com by logging into your Space Girl Organics account and clicking “shop.”
